The palace-fort, Sujanpur Tira is situated at a distance of 22kms from Hamirpur town and touches the Kangra border.
History of Sujanpur fort
This fort is situated in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. This fort is known as Sujanpur Fort. It is also called the ‘Treasurer Fort’ of Hamirpur because of the hidden treasures here. Sujanpur Fort was built 264 years ago by Raja Abhay Chand of Katoch dynasty in the year 1758, after that Raja Sansar Chand ruled here.
Treasure Fort
Due to the hidden treasure here, it is also called the treasurer fort of Hamirpur. It is said that even today the treasure of King Sansar Chand is present in this fort, but till date neither the curtain has been lifted from the secret of this treasure nor has anyone reached the treasure.
Secret Tunnel
There is a five kilometer long tunnel inside the fort, but till date no one has reached the end of this tunnel. It is said that King Sansar Chand used this fort to hide the looted treasure. For this, he had built a secret tunnel in the fort, the path of which opens directly to the treasury.
Secret of treasure
It is said that the secret of the treasure was buried with the killing of King Sansar Chand.In search of the hidden treasure here, many kings, including the Mughals, and in the rural fort He has excavated many times, even he has tried to go into that mysterious tunnel, but everyone has failed till now.
